Accessing your storage unit should be simple and convenient. At XYZ Storage, all seven of our locations offer the same standard access hours, with flexible after-hours and 24-hour access options available at select facilities when you need them.

Standard access at all seven of our buildings is 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. After-hours and 24-hour access are available at six of the seven, and Etobicoke Lakeshore location operates during our standard business hours.

24-hour access is included with our Value and Premium units, making it a feature of your storage plan rather than the building itself. If you only need occasional access outside our regular hours, after-hours entry can also be arranged separately at participating locations.

What’s the difference between office hours and access hours?

Office hours are when our team is available to assist you in person. This is when you can:

Access hours are when you can enter the facility and access your storage unit.

Outside those hours, entry is by prior arrangement: either after-hours access set up with your building, or a Value or Premium unit with 24-hour access.

How does 24-hour access work at XYZ Storage?

At XYZ Storage, 24-hour access is included with Value and Premium units at six of our locations. It is a feature of your storage plan rather than something automatically included with every unit at the facility.

Can I get into my unit after hours?

Yes. After-hours access can be requested at:

• Toronto Midtown
• Toronto West

• Etobicoke Kipling
• Scarborough

There is a simple process for arranging after-hours access. Requests must be submitted on the day access is needed, from opening time until two hours before the facility closes.

Once your request is approved, you’ll receive confirmation by email. If you haven’t received approval, your after-hours access has not yet been activated.

How do you get into the building?

There are two ways to get into the self-storage facility, and which one you have depends on the location.

• Access with the StorID app

Toronto Downtown, Toronto Midtown, Toronto West, Toronto Dundas, Etobicoke Kipling, and Scarborough use the PTI gate system with the StorID app.

You’ll never need to remember a passcode, and you can stay in the car while the gate lifts. On a January evening, that’s not a small thing. StorID is included with your rental at no extra charge.

Setting it up takes about a minute. You download the StorID app, the team at your building sends you a link that creates your account, and after that you just tap to open the gate.

• Access with your personal keypad code

Every XYZ Storage location offers keypad entry. Your personal access code is provided by the team at your location. At Etobicoke Lakeshore, facility access is available using keypad entry and your assigned code.

What are the hallways like at night?

Yes, we want our XYZ Storage customers to feel comfortable accessing their storage units during approved after-hours visits. At Toronto Downtown, Toronto Midtown, Toronto West, Toronto Dundas, Etobicoke Kipling, and Scarborough, hallway lighting is motion-activated. At Etobicoke Lakeshore, hallway lighting operates on a timer.

All seven locations also offer customer washrooms and 5-foot-wide hallways designed to make moving your belongings easier.

How do I get access set up?

If you’re already renting, call the team at your self-storage location and ask them to set up an after-hours entry, or to move you to a plan with 24-hour access. Reach customer service at 1-866-310-1999 if you’d rather start there.

If you’re not renting yet, reserve a unit online and tell us at move-in what access you need. Reservations are free, and you pay when you move in.

Yes. Our Etobicoke Kipling location at 380 Bering Avenue offers 24-hour access with Value and Premium units, along with after-hours access on request.

Our Etobicoke Lakeshore location operates during standard published access hours.

Is there 24-hour storage access in Scarborough?

Yes. Scarborough at 135 Beechgrove Drive offers 24-hour access on Value and Premium units, and after-hours entry on request. The site is single-storey, so you drive straight to your own unit door.

Do I need an app to get into XYZ Storage?

No. Every XYZ Storage location has a keypad entry. Six of the seven also run the PTI gate system with the StorID app, which opens the gate and doors from your phone at no extra charge.

Are XYZ Storage office hours the same as access hours?

Yes, currently. Both run 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. Office hours are when staff are at the counter, and access hours are when you can open your own unit.

Is there a limit on how often I can visit my storage unit?

No. You can visit your storage unit as often as you need during your approved access hours, with no additional charge for regular visits.
